July Recap 2016

Apparently I didn't spend much time in July snapping pictures.
But we did celebrate Patrick's birthday with cake and a family movie night.

And, as usual, we spent lots of time at the pool (oh hey--a tiny glimpse of me behind Maggie's selfie):
I did take a quick trip to Utah with Erica.  She drives fast.  Actually, driving through Wyoming is always a ticketing risk.
And Lulu got one amazing grooming session:

Quick Arizona Visit

We spent some time in Arizona. Of course this means loads of pool time with Grandma and Grandpa.  Grandma might be hard to spot but she's toward the back of the pool in the hat.  She's extremely patient with two little ladies splashing around during her morning water exercises!

We got to spend a couple of nights at the Narducci's house which was such a treat.

Caroline had a little dance recital.  She was perfection:

Sunset Pool is open.  Let the summer fun begin! Maggie and Harlow:
Caroline, Nessa...and I can't quite place the other friend's name:
The Ingegneris went all out on an amazing Minecraft party.  It was so impressive!
These two, like an old married couple:

Maggie's 10th

Maggie had herself a milestone birthday.  A whole decade.  Like...HOW?!?

Her big gift was a new laptop.  Dad wrote Happy Birthday Maggie on the screen:

Maggie is a wolf obsessed girl.  Her birthday request was to visit the wolf sanctuary.
Waiting patiently for our tour to start:

Toothless

I took this photo for one purpose and one purpose only.  My lifelong friend is losing her younger sister to cancer.  It's been a heartbreaking experience.  Due to all of the treatments she has received for years now, she has started losing her teeth.  I sent the one and only photo I will EVER take of my toothless smile. Because showing solidarity with Jenni is worth it. I hope she and her family got a kick out of it.  The whole of the internet does not get to see what she got to see.  Sorry.

Combining the Party

I'm not sure why we thought it was a good idea to combine parties.  But we did and it was crazy.

I know--at this point you can consider me the worst dog mom ever.  I swear I'll get the dog groomed eventually.  But this is just bad:

April Recap 2016

April was a hard month.  I knew I'd be having a tooth extracted and my anxiety had me in a vice-like grip about it.

We spent Easter in Cincinnati with the McCarthy family:

The McCarthy cousins goofed off with selfies and filters:

Julie came to visit.  We hit the Denver Aquarium among other things:

And finally...it was tooth extraction time.
My front tooth needed to be pulled.  I was accidentally hit in the face as a kid and have had multiple issues with my two front teeth since. Veneers, crowns, replacement crowns, eventual root canals, more replacement crowns.  One of the teeth finally gave up.  It had to come out.  I researched the best dental surgeons and the best prosthodontists, made the appointment, then spent the weeks leading up to the procedure in full crisis.  I woke up multiple times every night in full panic attacks.  What if the extraction went wrong?  What if the implant didn't take?  It's my FRONT TOOTH!!  What if I'm stuck with dentures?  To say I've been worried would be an understatement.  But what's done is done.  All I can do is wait and see.  Now I have a fancy retainer with a fake tooth attached, called a flipper.  It's going to have to do.
